Like most of you know, I graduated from the Mount in 1992. I have always hoped for a connection back to my Alma mater never realizing this would be it...

Three years ago, I was to help organize a haircutting event at the Mount and here we are going strong....The first student you see is Jocelyn, I cut her hair off our FIRST year...

We even made the paper with her haircut.

Ok, so we forgot ( I forgot) all the capes with the exception of ONE...

and they just happened to have had these sheets sitting there which worked just

fine...we adjust to what we have available...

I think we could even do one of those cutting shows where you use household tools to cut hair...

Ok, just a thought anyway...

I can not believe I have not written on here in over a month...SORRY...so busy..
Want to let you know I am reconsidering my working as an Educator with Goldwell....
I am such a fan of all the products that it makes it hard to not want to learn all I can and be able to share it...so with that said they have developed a new shampoo line Dualsenses and new silk lift bleach and now all I want to do is know all I can.

For those of you who dont know already Alex Gardner has returned to full time styling..no more nursing... She is working tue-friday...She is an amazing colorist and cutter...if you havent already give her a try....she is so much fun to work with...

Less than two months til Alicias BIG DAY in St. Augustine Florida....she has waited a long time to find someone like Jimmy...we are so happy for them both....

With great appreciation for all she has done for me...Wilma Miller..aka ...the German lady I bought the salon from has retired...she worked in the same salon since 1966. She stayed nearly 10 years with me. I miss her very much...so I am planning her a Retirement Tea Party soon.

For the First time, I am running an Ad in Savvy Kids Magazine...you can only guess the ad will be a Stylist wanted ad....maybe even two stylists....this is new to me, the whole ad thing so I am thrilled to work with Savvy Kids, such a New and innovative magazine...it hits my market with the mothers like me who read about the things our children can do or wear...Tanner Beau was featured in the April edition on page 8. Look for your copy on stand at the end of April.

Just a quick note VIA the Free internet here at my hotel...I am in Baltimore and LOSING MY MIND!!! I am sooo scared I am not going to pass this Goldwell Training Academy...when they referred to it as BOOT CAMP I didnt pay enought attention...
I was awake at 5am(4am in Arkansas) and in the gym doing cardio and studying for class then, showered, breakfast and 8:15 caught the shuttle to Goldwell Academy!!! I am so Tired...anywho, I hope you all will love me if I dont pass this thing...Miss my husband and kiddos and Mom...cant wait to see them Sat morning....Wish me luck!

CAST OFF

GOOD NEWS...I got my CAST OFF Thursday and I DONT HAVE BONE CANCER it was Non MALIGNANT . Now the bad news Apparently I had more bone work done than anticipated by the Dr and she says I have to be very careful and keep my splint on for a while. If I hit my finger just right without it I will shatter the whole thing and then need a bunch of screws and pins... so I am going to do what she told me and keep it on except in therapy 6 times a day. I will be doing hair as alot of my therapy but you guys will have to remind me to put this thing back on after I do your hair!hahaha Main worry is the kids hitting or kicking it accidentally so around them for sure I am going to have to wear it. The scar is almost gone she is an amazing surgeon. If ever you need someone to do an upper extremity Jeanine Andersson is AMAZING...and if you need your twins worked on DR LOVE is AMAZING....haha

Karen has just completed her year as North Little Rock Junior League President. She and I became friends and client/stylist when we met in our provisional year in the league. I stepped out of the league in 2003 she stayed and became the top representative of the league. In her reign she also was able to see the end of the loan for the Damn Cookbooks. Anyone who knows someone in the League or has been in knows what I am talking about. Swear they should have had a contract burning on that occasion. Treked to Russellville to training...

I headed out on an adventure to Russellville for shadowing my educator Shirley from Nashville. She has traveled Arkansas this week and her last stop before the airport was Margrets Hair Academy. I came up early and spent the nite with Angie and Chase Smith(aka my sis-n-law and bro-n-law). I havent ever stayed with them it was so nice to be there and hang out...I love their home and my two VERY TALL Nephews were there to remind me 5ft5in means nothing to a 12 and 16 year olds going on 6ft 2in. I enjoyed meeting the students and listening to the training. It was on covering primary with the color lines which is something that sunk in better hearing it again after the Nashville adventure. I feel more confident in my knowledge of creating a formula for different hair colors. I will have a chance to meet with her next thursday also and cover the missing training....then again in September I will be there in Hot Springs for our weekend of training A-Z Goldwell, and finally off to BALTIMORE,Md to the Academy for Boot Camp! Yea ME!

We arrived mid day Saturday and shopped at the OpryMills Mall aka(indoor Outlet Mall). On Sunday at 11 am my orientation began, I arrived and met our instructor Shirley D aka my new boss (if I get the position). I had two classmates, Jaleigh from Mt.Carmel Illinois and Tony from Huntsville Alabama. Our training was education on facts about Goldwell and knowledge as well as knowledge retention. By 5pm we were fried, the hotel was doing construction and our classroom became very stuffy and hot by late afternoon. That nite we gathered up and rode to the Bonefish near downtown. I love BangBang Shrimp, and Ahi Tuna and it was FANTASTIC. Thank you KPSS for our dinner! Monday morning was bright and early, 9am or for Tony 9:30!haha, we got off with a bang but didnt get finished where we thought we would have by 4pm. So, lucky for me Shirley will be in my area Twice before Baltimore so I can review and shadow her in training. YEAH ME! I really love having all of this knowledge, its almost powerful! Anywho, can't wait to get back into the shop and share my new found knowledge. Newest Goldwell products Highliting System off-scalp application WHO KNEW!

Heading to Nashville, Tn next weekend. My orientation starts Sunday, so Mom and Aunt Sami and I are heading out Saturday morning to get in early and shop. I am excited to spend some time just the three of us. I will be in class for the two days so they can shop and hang out. I am not sure if I mentioned this to very many of you, but I have been interviewing for an educator spot for Goldwell. Which means, I would be trained and go to other areas close to home and educate other salons and stylists on the color line you have all been using for many years on your hair. I am very proud of this, I am certain I won't be doing it for the money, but to be better at meeting your needs as well as growing as a stylist....Next, on to orientation for a two day wkd and if that works then to Baltimore, MD for 6 day training....Maybe I could get out and see my gfather on his wall in Arlington! Maybe!

Lunch today with Goldwell

Carol, Alicia and I had lunch with Huey a Goldwell Educator from Missouri. We had her come to lunch with us to learn about NEW COLORS and the NEWEST HAIRCARE LINE due out next month (which is only a week out). The good news about the color is I bought them a month ago but didn't know if what to expect of them. I also spoke to her about putting in my application to become an educator for GOLDWELL. How cool would that be...your salon, your stylists working for the color line you already know and love. We'll see....its a grueling process and with all my free time this may just be a dream for the back burner...

WE DID IT! RECORD HAIRCUTS! Well to be exact I will have to check on it, but I do know I mailed over 5 lbs. of hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. THAT's ALOT. Carol, Alicia and I had a great day...I went to Mt early for the "Good Morning Arkansas" shot which went great. Then I met the girls at the salon to go back. First, I took us to lunch at Trio's. We love their Banana Bread...then SHOCKED Carol at the Full Moon gift shop...She cracked me up...on to the Mt. for all the fun...I have to say that Alicia and I were so IMPRESSED with Carol..she has never really participated and that girl jumped right in and never skipped a beat...You would have thought she had been in with this from the beginning...We love her.. She is Awesome dont underestimate her with the Shampoo Sets she does! Anyway, Alicia and I cut as much this time as the last and enjoyed the heck out of it...Thanks to Mrs. Alice and Mrs. Fran for inviting us and helping us do a good job. See you all next year.....did I mention I think Jason Harper is SO PRETTY?

LOVE LOVE LOVE them, the guys are So great. I got to the studio at 7am way too early.Thank You to my brilliant husband who got the right location info for me. I waited til after 8am for the manager to get out of the bus and let me know he needed to WAKE up John, the lead singer for me to trim his hair! But, I really enjoyed chatting with him and he is very personable. He scared me at first saying how particular he is about his hair, but I nailed it! He is precious. Here are a few pics for you to see John and the other guys that played this morning. They will be at Juanitas tonite if you have time to catch them @ 10pm. I will be asleep by then!haha

The record label guy for a band called "Secondhand Serenade" asked if I could be at the studio at 7am wed morning to cut some hair for the band that has been on the road. I "MY SPACED" them and found some of their music online at Amazon.com. They are really good. I can't wait to see what they look like. I am FREAKIN out though...7 am and doing hair. Anywho, No,I wont be on air cutting, I am just getting them ready for their show...HOW FUN... anyway, better go to bed before I oversleep....I will get pick of me with them in case they become really famous!

When I left PHD for my venture to the new ownership Lucy moved with me. She had worked with Babor skincare for many years. She owns her own salon in Warren, traveling a long distance a few times a month to care for our clients which she has done for almost 15 years. Why haven't you been in to see her? A facial lasts about an hour and a half. Whats in a facial? Cleansing, Exfoliation, Waxing, Massaging, Extraction of black and whiteheads, COMPLETE Relaxation. Monday, April 28th I am taking part with Mt St Marys to do our Second Annual Cutting for the Cure. I am working with Channel 7's Morning shows to get the whole thing on air. I am so greatful for the opportunity the charity of choice has brought into my life. The hair industry only lends its hand in so many ways and I am proud to have found my niche in the world. So much for trying to get to that class..but my babysitter was sick..AKA ( Lauren) Alicias daughter which meant she couldnt go either. That stomach bug is awful..anywho...we are getting set up for a color class with Goldwell SOON...they have 10 NEW colors. We are excited about that...so for the people we are always tweaking their color we now have some shade alternatives! Again, thanks to all my clients who knew how stressed on tues I was about my sitter situation and to LIZZIE POO who saved my day! YOU ROCK....for Lauren who doesnt know it yet But stomach virus is the BEST DIET...hahaha NITE NITE

I received a call Tuesday from the producer of Good Morning Arkansas. She wants me to come in to the studio on the morning of the 12th of May to do a segment of my choice. HOW cool is that? I can't seem to wrap my mind around the fact they called to invite us in for this. She mentioned I can do a spot on haircare for the summer...but I am wanting to really WOW the audience at home and the producers with something GREAT...Looking for input from anyone...haha...Yeah we are so excited...get to see my JHarper again too...:)

Cutting for the Cure 2007

Cutting for the Cure went great! Jason Harper from KATV 7 did a great job covering the pre-show. I think he is soo pretty! Anyway, 26,8" ponytails which will make 4 and a half wigs for Pantene's Beautiful Lengths. I am glad we had Tangles salon next door available to cut and Victorian Gardens for their food donation. We are happy that our Pink CHi flat iron went to Shannon from JWNutts office. What a wonderful opportunity to reach out and do something for the community. We will be at Mt St Mary's in the spring.
